{"id":299448,"date":"2023-12-15T21:41:16","date_gmt":"2023-12-15T21:41:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportslifetale.com\/?p=299448"},"modified":"2023-12-15T21:41:16","modified_gmt":"2023-12-15T21:41:16","slug":"bryan-mbeumo-will-be-out-for-12-weeks-in-a-huge-blow-to-brentford","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportslifetale.com\/soccer\/bryan-mbeumo-will-be-out-for-12-weeks-in-a-huge-blow-to-brentford\/","title":{"rendered":"Bryan Mbeumo will be out for 12 WEEKS in a huge blow to Brentford"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1> Bryan Mbeumo will be out for 12 WEEKS in a huge blow to Brentford with the Cameroon forward set to miss the Africa Cup of Nations as he faces surgery on his ankle today<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Brentford are already missing Ivan Toney whose football ban is up in January\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Bryan Mbeumo has\u00a0 scored seven goals and assisted four more in the league\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>CHRIS SUTTON: I was RIGHT to call Man United players \u2018snakes\u2019 last week &#8211; IAKO\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Bryan Mbeumo&#8217;s ankle injury will see the forward miss 12 weeks of action, in a huge blow to Brentford&#8217;s Premier League campaign.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Cameroon star has been the star for the Bees in the absence of their talismanic forward Ivan Toney, who is continuing his football ban after being charged for betting breaches last season.<\/p>\n<p>Mbeumo has managed to score seven goals in 15 games adding a further four assists to his tally, making him one of the more prolific forwards in the Premier League in terms of his output.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Now though the Bees will have to do without their two best attackers as Mbeumo is facing around three months out with an ankle injury sustained in the 2-1 defeat to Brighton earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p>The 24-year-old will undergo ankle surgery on Friday, and as a result he will also miss the entirety of the Africa Cup of Nations which is set to kick off next month.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/15\/14\/79005709-0-image-a-12_1702650737834.jpg\" height=\"448\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Bryan Mbeumo faces a lengthy stint on the sidelines as he undergoes ankle surgery today<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/15\/14\/79005707-12868607-image-a-13_1702651637900.jpg\" height=\"419\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The Cameroon forward sustained the injury in a 2-1 defeat to Brighton earlier in December<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/15\/14\/79005705-12868607-image-a-14_1702651739572.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>It is a bitter blow to Thomas Frank&#8217;s side who are already without star striker Ivan Toney<\/p>\n<p>Your browser does not support iframes.<\/p>\n<p>Revealing the extent of the injury, Brentford boss Thomas Frank insisted that although the initial prognosis was not great for side, the player would return &#8216;stronger&#8217;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Operation today in the ankle,&#8217; Frank said on Friday. &#8216;Out for 12 weeks. So that will affect his Africa Cup of Nations. He will not participate.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Let&#8217;s get through the operation first. Bryan is a positive guy.
