Unai Emery was forced to run on to the pitch in an attempt to hold back Boubacar Kamara in the closing stages of his side’s dramatic 2-1 win over Brentford on Sunday.

Late goals from Alex Moreno and Ollie Watkins secured a late victory after Bees defender Ben Mee had been sent off 20 minutes from time.

Keane Lewis-Potter had opened the scoring for the hosts at Gtech Community Stadium but the game turned on its head after Mee was dismissed for flying into Leon Bailey in the 71st minute – referee David Coote upgrading to a red card after seeing the incident on the pitchside monitor.

Watkins did his best to antagonise his former fans with his celebration after the winner, causing a scuffle in the goal mouth between both sets of players.

Tensions continued to rise as the game reached it’s end and there was another brawl in the final stages as Emi Martinez and Neal Maupay clashed.

It put a dampener on what was otherwise another brilliant day for the visiting side, who provisionally moved up to second in the table.

After the game, Emery said: ‘I want to analyse the match we played in the first and second half and how we controlled the match after the red card

‘Then as well I want to analyse the circumstances that happened at the end of the match with Ollie, but I don’t know exactly what happened with him, as well Zaniolo, Duran and Martinez.
