Melbourne star Clayton Oliver headed home from the Demons\u2019 training camp in Lorne on Monday night as he continues to deal with his ongoing health challenges.<\/p>\n
The Demons have been working closely with the 26-year-old since revealing to members he was battling to adhere to the club\u2019s standards on and off the field and the club is continuing to support him.<\/p>\n

Melbourne midfielder Clayton Oliver.<\/span>Credit: <\/span>Getty Images<\/cite><\/p>\n Oliver did not train on Saturday but made his way to the first day of the training camp before heading back to Melbourne.<\/p>\n Melbourne football manager Alan Richardson said the decision was made on Monday.<\/p>\n \u201cClayton is taking a break as he continues to deal with some issues. We are continuing to support Clayton and managing his program in a way that prioritises his health and wellbeing,\u201d Richardson said.<\/p>\n \u201cHis teammates and staff remain confident he is making good progress.\u201d<\/p>\n The four-time best and fairest winner has had a tumultuous off-season that saw clubs, including Adelaide, chase him during the trade period before the Demons shut down speculation he was attainable.<\/p>\n The club then outlined in a letter to members the challenges Oliver was facing.<\/p>\n \u201cThe club has been aware of and supporting Clayton with his personal circumstances for some time and is committed to continuing to do so,\u201d Pert said.<\/p>\n \u201cWhile club leaders focus on the care and support Clayton needs, we also have a responsibility to uphold our strong club culture for the benefit of all our players and staff.\u201d<\/p>\n Oliver suffered a seizure in October that saw him attend hospital.
