{"id":299948,"date":"2023-12-20T20:24:40","date_gmt":"2023-12-20T20:24:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportslifetale.com\/?p=299948"},"modified":"2023-12-20T20:24:40","modified_gmt":"2023-12-20T20:24:40","slug":"paul-pogbas-anti-doping-tribunal-has-been-delayed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportslifetale.com\/soccer\/paul-pogbas-anti-doping-tribunal-has-been-delayed\/","title":{"rendered":"Paul Pogba&apos;s anti-doping tribunal &apos;has been delayed&apos;"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1> Paul Pogba&#8217;s anti-doping tribunal &#8216;has been delayed&#8217; as the Juventus midfielder&#8217;s legal team &#8216;ask for more time to sort their defence&#8217; following his positive test for testosterone<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Paul Pogba&#8217;s upcoming anti-doping tribunal has reportedly been postponed<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The player&#8217;s lawyers have been granted more time to prepare their defence<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>IAN LADYMAN: I&#8217;d rather watch a match at my local school than watch Man City in the Club World Cup &#8211; It&#8217;s All Kicking Off<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Paul Pogba&#8217;s\u00a0anti-doping tribunal hearing has been delayed to give the player&#8217;s legal team more time to prepare their defensive strategy, according to reports.<\/p>\n<p>The Juventus midfielder has endured a nightmare return to Italy since leaving Manchester United following the expiration of his contract at the club last year.<\/p>\n<p>Repeat injuries plagued his first season back in Turin, before he tested positive for testosterone after Juventus&#8217; first Serie A match of the season against\u00a0Udinese on August 20.<\/p>\n<p>Pogba has denied using the banned substance and is preparing a full defence after it was revealed that Italian prosecutors want to secure a four-year ban for the World Cup winner.<\/p>\n<p>The 30-year-old has hired a top sports lawyer in a bid to prove the allegations wrong and they are now appealing for more time to be given to them ahead of the initial January 18 deadline, as reported by Tuttosport.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/20\/19\/79185199-12886905-image-a-44_1703099902087.jpg\" height=\"422\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Paul Pogba&#8217;s upcoming anti-doping tribunal hearing has reportedly been delayed<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/20\/19\/79185203-12886905-image-m-46_1703099910927.jpg\" height=\"481\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Pogba is facing a potential four-year ban after testing positive for testosterone earlier in the season<\/p>\n<p>It is further claimed that the request from Pogba&#8217;s team has been accepted and the hearing has been postponed until further notice while a new date is established.<\/p>\n<p>The doping test focusses on Pogba being found to have\u00a0testosterone-boosting DHEA in his system, with the player already being provisionally suspended by Juventus as a result.<\/p>\n<p>The standard punishment for such an offence is a four-year ban and should that be applied then will likely spell the end of Pogba&#8217;s career amongst the world&#8217;s elite.<\/p>\n<p>It is understood that Pogba accepts the test was positive but is expected to argue that the substance was mistakenly in his system.<\/p>\n<p>The new hearing will now not take place before February 15, meaning Pogba wouldn&#8217;t have played competitive football for nearly five-months.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/12\/20\/19\/79185259-12886905-image-a-47_1703099983047.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The new hearing to determine Pogba&#8217;s fate will now not take place before February 15<\/p>\n<p>Pogba, joined by his legal team, will appear in front of Italy&#8217;s\u00a0National Anti-Doping Tribunal when a new date is cemented.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with Al Jazeera in the hours before the doping claims were made public, Pogba said; \u2018I want to make people eat their words and prove I am not weak. People can criticise me, but I will never give up.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018At times, when I have been alone, I have thought: &#8220;I don\u2019t want to have money anymore. I don\u2019t want to play football any longer. I want to be with normal people, that way they\u2019ll love me for who I am, not for money or fame.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u2018At times it\u2019s hard.
