Brock Lesnar’s suspension lifted, Edge and Miz return while Orton sets a record

It's that time of the week again as we run you through the biggest headlines from WWE over the past seven days, including the return of legend Brock Lesnar.

This week saw the bombshell news of the expiration of Brock Lesnar ’s suspension, putting WWE Universal champion Roman Reigns on red alert.

Edge made his first appearance on WWE TV since his epic Hell in a Cell match with Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel, while The Miz also returned to the company after a stint on USA’s Dancing with the Stars.

Following last month’s Survivor Series and this Monday’s episode, fans also saw one of the company’s biggest stars break yet more records. You can find out the latest headline news below…

Brock Lesnar's imminent return spells trouble for Roman Reigns

This past Friday on SmackDown, backstage interviewer Kayla Braxton opened the show to address rumours Brock Lesnar’s suspension was now over.

Before she could continue, out came Roman Reigns and his ‘special counsel’ Paul Heyman, who completely dismissed Braxton and any potential conversation, demanding facts surrounding Lesnar's status.

Heyman took the mic and hissed at Kayla: “Rumours? That’s the best you got? We don’t do rumours. That’s your problem, you parade around here like you’re a journalist when you just want to come out here and get the spotlight for yourself, with some 'rumours.'”

The iconic manager continued to berate the analyst, before Reigns called Lesnar a “number one loser.”

Later in the night a battle royal was announced to determine the new challenger for the Tribal Chief’s title, which Sami Zayn would go on to win.

After the match, Braxton would have the last laugh as she received confirmation of Lesnar’s suspension coming to an end, before informing the delighted crowd in Greensboro, North Carolina.

A camera panned backstage to a dismayed Reigns, who watched the match with Heyman and his cousins, The Usos.

It is unknown when will the ‘The Beast’ make his return, but you guarantee he will be gunning for the Universal champion.

Edge and The Miz return and engage in a war of words

As fans expected, Edge made his return to Monday Night Raw – which marked his first appearance since beating Seth Rollins in one of the matches of the year at Crown Jewel.

After being drafted to the red brand, the ‘Rated R Superstar’ was excited to be back and relished the opportunities to compete with new opponents, some of which he named.

One name he didn’t mention was The Miz, who then took his opportunity to interrupt the former world champion and made a return for the first time since the summer.

After taking time off to compete on America’s version of Dancing with the Stars, Miz was furious Edge didn’t mention his name and demanded he be given the respect he feels he deserves.

Miz fumed at Edge being given a big return despite only being gone for a month, before blasting him for being involved in the opening match when Miz was main eventing and defending the WWE title against John Cena at WrestleMania 27.

“The A-Lister“ claims he surpassed Edge a long time ago and the Hall of Famer should have stayed home for good.

Edge then said Miz lives rent free in people’s heads and people on other shows mention his name just to get a cheap reaction.

“The Ultimate Opportunist offered to fight Miz but he backed off, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the two square off at the Day 1 pay-per-view on New Year’s Day.

Randy Orton reaches another milestone

The Viper continues to break records as we saw this Monday on Raw.

Orton contested his 437th match on RAW, which is more than any other Superstar in WWE history.

The previous record was also held by Kane, who wrestled his 436th match on the Red Brand against R-Truth in 2019.

The Apex Predator broke another record held by “The Big Red Machine“ at last month’s Survivor Series, which was for the most pay-per-view matches in WWE history.

Orton has featured in 177 pay-per-view (PPV) events, along with Natalya who set a new record for the women with 68 at the same event.

Following the news, Nattie wrote: “Thank you @GWR for recognizing this. Really proud of this”, while Orton posted a fist pump and prayer emoji after reaching another milestone in his glittering career.
