The Undertaker planned WrestleMania 36 opponent revealed with WWE legend set for return

The Undertaker is set for a WrestleMania 36 return in a match with none other than AJ Styles, according to WrestleZone. The Deadman did not appear last year but is set to face off against the Phenomenal One in Tampa on April 5.

Styles has been sidelined since suffering a shoulder injury in the Royal Rumble match last month.

But the plan is for the Phenomenal One to face off with the Undertaker at the biggest WWE show of the year.

It would be the Phenom’s first match at WrestleMania since he beat John Cena in 2018.

Three years ago Roman Reigns appeared to ‘retire’ the Undertaker by beating him in the main event as the Deadman left his hat and trench coat in the ring.

The Undertaker has not competed since Extreme Rules 2019.

At the event he teamed with Roman Reigns to take on Drew McIntyre and Shane McMahon.

Undertaker last appeared on WWE TV came during the September 10, 2019 episode of SmackDown, where he chokeslammed Sami Zayn for interrupting his promo.

The only confirmed match for WrestleMania this year is WWE Champion Brock Lesnar defending his title against Drew McIntyre.

Other matches being rumoured include RAW Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch facing Shayna Baszler, Universal Champion, Bray Wyatt taking on Roman Reigns and Charlotte Flair going one-on-one with NXT Women’s Champion, Rhea Ripley.

WrestleMania will get underway at midnight UK time on Sunday, April 5.

AJ Styles is no stranger to having big matches at WrestleMania.

In his short WWE career he has faced Chris Jericho, Shane McMahon, Shinsuke Nakamura and Randy Orton.

Adding the Undertaker to that list would be some accomplishment for the Phenomenal One who really made his name in New Japan Pro Wrestling before getting his chance in WWE.
