WWE Clash of Champions LIVE RESULTS
WWE legend John Cena has just been cast in The Suicide Squad sequel and that means he will still be very busy in Hollywood.
Cena has been performing on a part-time basis with Vince McMahon’s promotion due to his advanced age of 42 and his growing acting career.
The Champ is following in the footsteps of fellow wrestling heros Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Dave ‘Batista’ Bautista as he has so far participated in various blockbuster comedies and action films.
The Leader of the Cenation’s growing Hollywood career hasn’t allowed him to make a lot of WWE appearances and it now looks like he may be out for a while.
Don’t get too attached
The 16-time world champion has just been cast in the sequel of DC Comics’ action film The Suicide Squad.
The movie’s director James Gunn shared a post on Twitter revealing the cast and Cena was part of it.
Gunn captioned the tweet with: “Don’t get too attached. #TheSuicideSquad.”
The ex-WWE Champion will be joining the likes of Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman and Academy Award Winner Viola Davis from the first movie who will be playing Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Rick Flag and Amanda Waller respectively.
Other newcomers include Steve Agee, Flula Borg, Alice Braga, Peter Capaldi, Pete Davidson, Idris Elba, Nathan Fillion, Jennifer Holland, Julio Ruiz, Storm Reid and Taika Waititi.
Cena is currently shooting Fast & Furious 9 along the likes of Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez.
This comes shortly after he took part in the Trasformers spinoff Bumblebee with Academy Award Nominee Hailee Steinfeld.
The former World Heavyweight Champion is also currently hosting the popular TV show Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?
Cena’s most recent WWE appearance took place at RAW Reunion last July.
The wrestler-turned-actor had a segment with The Usos, Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson of The Revival as well as WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi.
