Charles Leclerc crashes on Brazilian GP formation lap before angry radio message

Charles Leclerc suffered the embarrassing fate of crashing his Ferrari into the barriers on the formation lap of Brazilian Grand Prix. Leclerc was well-positioned to challenge Max Verstappen for the win in Brazil after a sensational qualifying lap on Friday.

The Ferrari driver needed a good start and would have fancied his chances with the inside line into the first corner. But disaster struck on the formation lap as Leclerc crashed into the barriers in a bizarre incident.

The 26-year-old looked devastated in the cockpit as cameras focused on his helmet. Leclerc then vented his anger on team radio, claiming the crash was caused by a failure on his car.

He bemonaed: “Noooo, I lost the hydraulics, I lost the hydraulics! Why the f*** am I so unlucky?”

The Williams driver ended up colliding with Nico Hulkenberg and that ended up pushing him into the other Haas of Kevin Magnussen.

The race was soon red flagged due to all the debris on the track with Albon and Magnussen joining Leclerc in retiring from the race.
