Jadon Sancho to train away from Man Utd squad until ‘discipline issue’ resolved
Manchester United have repeated their treatment of Cristiano Ronaldo by banishing Jadon Sancho to individual training, according to reports. Erik ten Hag has used his power to call the shots at Carrington again, one year after punishing Ronaldo for his ill-discipline before the 38-year-old’s exit.
United have confirmed Sancho is on a personal training programme away from the first team after reportedly refusing to apologise to Ten Hag.
The Red Devils No 25 effectively called his manager a liar on social media after being excluded from the squad to face Arsenal earlier this month.
Ten Hag has laid down the law in response, and it’s not the first time he has had to showcase who is boss in M16 since his arrival last year.
Ronaldo faced an eerily similar disciplinary process after storming down the tunnel and leaving Old Trafford early during United’s 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur last October.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner had grown disgruntled under Ten Hag, burning his bridges a month later in a public interview with Piers Morgan, which ultimately led to his release.
After his actions against Tottenham, Ten Hag held showdown talks with Ronaldo before excluding him from United’s squad to face Chelsea, plunging his future into doubt.

And Sancho is now in the same situation, having stood his ground due to a belief that he has been a victim of double standards since his £73m move to United in 2021.
However, Old Trafford icon Dimitar Berbatov has blasted the 23-year-old winger’s behaviour, claiming he thinks he’s more important than he is.
“I will not be surprised if Sancho struggles to get game time for United from here,” Berbatov told Betfair.
“Players sometimes think they are really important, and they can change something when they speak publicly. In reality, they only make the situation worse.

“In this case, I did not like what happened, and Sancho should have gone directly to Erik ten Hag and spoken to him man to man. Things could go either way now.
“If the manager likes you as a player, even if you make mistakes along the way, it will be easier for him to forgive you, keep you around and continue to give you another chance.
“If he doesn’t like you, then the situation becomes difficult. You will need to work even harder to get back into the team.
“Had Jadon Sancho done this when Sir Alex Ferguson was the manager, then he would have been out because no one is bigger than the team.”
