Rio Ferdinand gets hair & beard transplants as he’s used for Turkey promo video

Rio Ferdinand has revealed his stunning new hair and beard transplant.

The Manchester United legend jetted off to Istanbul, Turkey, to undergo his treatment at Dr Emrah Cinik’s clinic. Ferdinand, 45, stars in a slick promotional video where he can be seen arriving at the clinic and greeting staff.

The viral TikTok clip, uploaded by Dr Cinik himself on Sunday, shows the fascinating process of Ferdinand having his hairline brought forward and the patches in his beard filled in.

Ferdinand says in the video: “I'm here to get my beard sorted out, I've got a couple of holes, a couple of patches. Getting my hair transplant done. I can't wait to get it done. Listen, if you're ever thinking about getting yours done, this is the place to be.”

The TNT Sports pundit was delighted with the results in the end as he signed a United shirt to add to the clinic’s wall of other well-known footballer clients. Though Ferdinand would have forked out a fortune, with Dr Cinik’s hair transplants starting at €2,350 (£2,027) and going up to €3,790 (£3,271).

He follows a whole host of other stars in seeking out the Istanbul-based clinic’s services, with Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes sporting a replenished hairline since his own transplant in 2022.

And the video also shows one of the clinic's walls lined with various other football jerseys belonging to the likes of Brazil legend Rivaldo, former Liverpool winger Ryan Babel, ex-Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna and Sevilla midfielder Ivan Rakitic.

Ferdinand had explained back in 2021 that he dyes his beard to avoid looking “like a Dalmatian”. He said on Gabby Logan’s podcast: “I'm not ashamed of having grey hair, I don't care, but it looks better if it's all one colour.

“If it all went grey, the whole beard was grey, I'd let it just go. But it's like patchwork. I'd like it, that distinguished look, if it was all grey, I wouldn't care. But it's the patchwork business, I'm like a Dalmatian, I don't like it.”
