Novak Djokovic says he will ‘keep going’ after US Open win
Today is the first day of the Paris Masters as Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz especially will be hunting for glory in France. Last year’s edition saw Holger Rune defeat defending champion Djokovic, as the Serb will undoubtedly be seeking revenge.
Andy Murray is in action today as he faces off against his nightmare opponent Alex de Minaur. The Brit has lost all five meetings with De Minaur and recently let his frustrations get the better of him in China, as he looks to break that duck today.
Cameron Norrie was due to play Alexandre Muller but pulled out of the tournament after admitting that he was suffering from exhaustion, though he is expected to return in time to play in the Davis Cup.
Meanwhile, Djokovic and Alcaraz have somewhat surprisingly been practising together in Paris, as neither seemingly feared giving away their secrets ahead of what could be a blockbuster final between the pair on Sunday.

Arnaldi pulls out of tournament
Italian starlet Matteo Arnaldi has been forced to withdraw from the Paris Masters because of a “family problem”.
Arnaldi had already sent a fierce warning to Novak Djokovic that “I’m coming for you” days before the event, but their potential quarter-final clash can no longer take place.
“Unfortunately I had to withdraw from the @rolexparismasters due to a family problem, thanks for all the support and the messages we’ve received,” he wrote on Instagram.
“I will take some time to rest and then me and my team we will get ready to end the season at its best playing for Italy once again in the Davis Cup. Thank you all.”
Novak Djokovic on swearing
Novak Djokovic has admitted that he and his team have been forced to be creative when it comes to swearing on the court.
He has been punished for swearing during previous matches, but he explained that he can no longer use curses in his native tongue due to the success of Serbian players in recent years.
“The problem we have, because of the success of Croatian and Serbian players in the last 30 years or so, we unfortunately have a situation where most of the umpires understand the swearing words,” Djokovic told Eurosport.
“So we have to play around a little bit, we have to use the slang, create new words, but when you’re p***** off you don’t think about creating.”
Andy Murray tough start
Andy Murray was handed potentially his toughest start to the Paris Masters, drawn against Alex De Minaur in the first round.
The two are set to compete today, with the Brit aiming for his first-ever win against De Minaur having lost all five previous contests.
Last time out, Murray smashed his racket on the floor to vent his frustration against the Aussie, but will be hoping for a more settled affair in France today.
