John Fury pours doubts on Tommy Fury vs KSI rematch – EXCLUSIVE

Verdict delivered on Tommy Fury's win over KSI

John Fury has poured doubts on a potential rematch between KSI and Tommy Fury. Fury Sr had initially admitted that there were grounds for a second fight in the immediate aftermath but has since insisted he is no longer open to doing any future business with KSI after the way in which the YouTuber handled himself during and after the crossover clash.

The head of the Fury family is particularly aggrieved with KSI for refusing to pay a £200,000 bet on the outcome of the fight against his son. Meanwhile, the British YouTube star hasn’t helped matters by spitting on Fury Sr during an altercation at the open workout.

Speaking exclusively to Express Sport in association with Free Bets UK, Fury Sr said: “I’m done with people like KSI. I’m finished with him. He’s not an honourable man, he’s a selfish man. If you make a bet and you lose you pay it. I’m an old-school man and your word has to be who you are. So, if you can’t say to be people that ‘my word is my bond’ then who are you? He’s everything he shouldn’t be.

“I’m done with him; I’m not making any more videos about the bet because I don’t want to be around people like that. And another thing is the spitting incident. I’m no better than anyone else but I’ve never spat at anybody in my life and at the end of the day he wants a clip up the ear for that.

“I don’t want any more business with him, if he’s connected to any business then we’re not playing. Like I said, if Tommy wants to do any further business with him then he does it without me. Tommy is his own man.”

Asked whether that would rule out any future dealings with Misfits Boxing considering KSI is the CEO of the promotion, Fury Sr replied: “No. He doesn’t own DAZN and that’s who we are dealing with not him. DAZN’s got the brains and the people behind Misfits, not him. He’s not got the brains to do anything. The Sauerland brothers (co-owners of MF) are great to do business with but there will be no more business with that reptile.”

Fury defeated KSI via unanimous decision last month at the Manchester Arena. Their bout was originally declared a majority decision but the result was altered after it was revealed that one scorecard had been added up incorrectly.

KSI felt he was “robbed” and has gone on to appeal the result with the Professional Boxing Association (PBA) – the semi-professional sanctioning body that oversaw the bout. A hearing took place on Monday and a decision is set to be reached by a review panel within 14 days. KSI has also called for a rematch.

In the same interview, Fury Sr revealed to Express Sport that his son is “in talks” to face former four-weight world champion Roy Jones Jr in his next bout.
