KSI slaps Tommy Fury as security force fighters apart in chaotic face-off

Security had to step in as things got physical between KSI and Tommy Fury ahead of their showdown in Manchester on October 14.

The two opponents were at Wembley Arena on Tuesday alongside Logan Paul and Dillon Danis – the other headline names fighting against one another on 'The Prime Card' – to help promote the event with a press conference. However, the spectacle lasted less than 30 minutes after Tommy's dad, John, destroyed the on-stage set in a bizarre display.

The fighters were kept around and eventually brought back on stage for their respective face-offs, with KSI staring down fellow Brit Fury in a heated exchange. The two got up close before trading barbs while touching foreheads, with 'TNT' promising to show the YouTuber after most recently beating Jake Paul this past February.

True to tradition in this most recent age of boxing, however, the influencer couldn't help but chase his moment of clout and shoved Fury away from him in a fit of aggression. And the slap of skin on skin could be heard from off-stage as topless Tommy was forced to take a step back.

It should perhaps be a point of concern for KSI that despite his best efforts, his upcoming foe barely moved. Meanwhile, the internet personality appeared to reel back a good few yards before being held by security.

Either the manoeuvre was an attempt to get away from Fury, or TNT's really do pack that much propulsion of their own. Either way, the Londoner came away looking the less classy of the two.

That didn't stop KSI 'having the last laugh' as his wind-up tactics reverted to laughing and jeering at Fury. The assailant encouraged Fury to 'come on, then' and continued chirping away from afar, albeit not making any visible attempts to close the distance between the two.

While the youngest member of the Fury fighting clan is 9-0 as a pro, KSI's only experience as a 'professional' came when he beat the elder Paul sibling over six rounds in a November 2019 rematch. However, the credentials of that clash as a legitimate, sanctioned bout are debatable.

KSI has since fought four times in the ring under exhibition conditions and knocked out businessman Joe Fournier in the second round of their May meeting. However, that result was later declared a no-contest after he used his elbow for the finishing blow.

If fans weren't already excited about the potential fore fireworks at Manchester Arena in less than two months' time, Tuesday's press conference will have worked in drumming up extra attention. However, it also served as evidence that much of the hype around influencer boxing has very little to do with the combat itself.
