Frankie Dettori chases his 500th winner at Newmarket on Saturday, when his mounts include favourite Inspiral in the Group One Sun Chariot Stakes.
The 52-year-old, who will have his final rides in Britain two weeks today, needs one more success to reach the landmark.
Dettori has ridden 281 winners on the Rowley Mile course and 218 on Newmarket’s July Course.
The Sun Chariot is one of Dettori’s least successful British Group One races. His only win came in 1992 on Luca Cumani-trained Red Slippers.
The Italian also rides Queen Emma in the British EBF 40th Anniversary Premier Fillies’ Handicap.
