Marhaba The Champ
He clearly hasn’t run up to his best on his last two starts but as a result he is only 1lb higher than when winning here in May, so he clearly has a good chance if he can reproduce that effort.

Broome
Five of these are potential winners and Broome is obviously one of those. He will love it if the ground remains on the quick side and he ran well when third to Giavellotto in the Yorkshire Cup here in May. He gets 3lb off the top two and I reckon he is set to go well on this surface; a combination of 2m on quick ground suits him.

Johannes Brahms
I rode Kylian in the Molecomb and we didn’t see the best of him there. He may be the one to beat, up in trip, but Johannes Brahms is a colt with improvement in him. He already brings a good level of form to the table, winning over 6f on his debut and then chasing home Big Evs stepped down to 5f in the Windsor Castle, and he is a horse I like.

Aesop’s Fables
It’s pretty obvious that he has a fair bit to find with the likes of Highfield Princess but he is a pretty lightly-raced colt and this juvenile Group 2 winner ran well behind Shaquille at Newbury last time. He is a plausible outsider but he clearly has a very tough task.

Sirona
She was rated a fair bit higher at two and she is on the same mark as when a good second on quick ground over a mile at Newmarket last month. You’d think the step back up in trip ought to suit her.

Battle Cry
This will be a very competitive maiden as usual, as it should be for the money, but Battle Cry improved a good deal when second at Down Royal last time. He will need to improve again but he is going the right way.

English Oak
He has a solid chance on his Newmarket third last time, on which he looks fairly handicapped to me. He is a well-related Wootton Bassett colt, too, so the pedigree suggests he should be competitive off a mark of 90.
