The next UFC game will feature two legendary boxers as playable characters – Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson.
UFC 5 is set to be released on October 27 on Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S with MMA fans eager to dive into the next instalment and go toe-to-toe with their favourite fighters.
Ali and Tyson are considered two of the best fighters in the history of boxing – with the former the first boxer to become a three-time heavyweight champion and earning the nickname ‘The Greatest’.
Ali passed away in 2016 and left behind a huge legacy for future fighters to follow.
Tyson, meanwhile, won the championship twice and garnered a reputation as one of the most fearsome fighters in the ring with 44 knockouts out of his 50 victories.

Boxers crossing over into a UFC game is not unheard of after UFC 4 featured two high-profile boxers on UFC 4 last year.
Heavyweight stars Tyson Fury – who is currently the WBC champion – and Anthony Joshua were both included in the game. To unlock the pair, fans had to pay for a bundle or pre-order the game and pay extra for the deluxe edition.
This year Ali and Tyson will also be made available to players who pre-order the game.
In addition to the two fighters, former Bellator star Fedor Emelianenko will also be available as a playable character.
New details in the game will include more realistic cuts, bruises and swelling – including fighters struggling with breathing after taking a hit to the nose and limping after a handful of leg kicks.

There will also be doctors checks with referees stepping in to instruct a ringside medic to inspect damage – adding a strategic element as players look to protect their fighter for the rest of the fight and prevent it being called off.
This will also be the first UFC game to incorporate the Frostbite engine, which has been used in other popular sport video games such as FIFA. The system will ensure more realistic gameplay, facial animations and movements.
Developers EA Sports have also revamped the submission system – which was previously something of a mini-game that involved players tapping buttons in order to dominate their opponents.
They are now promising a ‘cleaner’ and ‘smoother’ experience, with submissions now set to ‘flow within one another’.
