The Nuggets are about to get a taste of what Deion Sanders and CU football have brought to Boulder game days this fall. Namely, big names, big music and one big party — this one in honor of the defending NBA champs.
Warner Bros. Discovery Sports is debuting its “NBA On TNT American Express Roadshow” at the Tivoli Quad on Nuggets opening night, Oct. 24, adjacent to Ball Arena.
TNT’s popular “Inside The NBA” team will be broadcasting from the quad before, during and after Denver hosts the Los Angeles Lakers in the lid-lifter for both Western Conference rivals.
Which means the Nuggets will defend their first-ever NBA crown in the presence of not just LeBron James and Anthony Davis, who were swept out of the Western Conference Finals by Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and the Nuggets this past spring. TNT’s popular broadcasters Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson will also be on-site.
The “Roadshow” is a day-long celebration at the quad, starting at 3 p.m. local time. Fans are invited to join a free watch party for Nuggets-Lakers at the Auraria Campus, one that will include promotions, contests, a custom mural, skill challenges, and a postgame concert featuring Dermot Kennedy and The Chainsmokers.
The Nuggets’ opener is scheduled to tip off on TNT at 5:30 p.m. that day, the first tilt of a broadcast doubleheader that will be followed by Phoenix visiting Golden State at approximately 8 p.m.
