Some of Formula 1’s brightest stars celebrated the end of the season with a meal in what is becoming quite the tradition.
Around half of the grid tucked in to a meal at the same restaurant they visited after the end of last season, when Lewis Hamilton took them out to celebrate Sebastian Vettel’s retirement.
The season ended with Max Verstappen winning at Abu Dhabi once again but there was no sign of him and Red Bull team-mate Sergio Perez, despite their attendance last year.
This time 11 drivers were featured in the photograph, though it is unclear if the empty seat next to Hamilton was also occupied by a fellow racer at some point.
Hamilton, Charles Leclerc, Yuki Tsunoda, Zhou Guanyu, Valtteri Bottas, Daniel Ricciardo, Alex Albon, George Russell, Carlos Sainz, Pierre Gasly, and Lance Stroll kicked back and relaxed together after the 22-race season.

Posting the photo on Instagram Zhou wrote: ‘It’s been a long season with some highs & many difficulties but thanks for @alfaromeostake everyone’s hard work, we will bounce back next year!
‘Thanks to @alfaromeoofficial for the amazing times together!
‘Thanks to all my fans & supporters during the season!’
Zhou signed a contract extension with Alfa Romeo a couple of months ago and will hope to build on his two seasons in which he has finished 18th.
Most of the plates on the candle-lit table were empty, suggesting the drivers were satisfied with their sustenance.
Hamilton is understood to have picked up the bill last year, when all 20 drivers attended, but it is not clear who paid this time around.
It has been the most repetitive season in recent memory, with Verstappen winning 19 of the 22 races on the calendar.

Sergio Perez, who finished second in the Drivers’ Championship, scooped up two race victories as well, meaning the only non-Red Bull driver to stand on the top step of the podium was Carlos Sainz in Singapore.
