George Russell swears at Mercedes engineer after asking about Lewis Hamilton

George Russell was left frustrated with his race engineer during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, swearing over the team radio after asking about Lewis Hamilton’s race state.

The 25-year-old was running in third place heading into the final stages of the Abu Dhabi GP and wanted to know about the status of his team-mate as the Constructors’ Championship battle with Ferrari intensified.

“How is Lewis getting on?” he asked on Lap 41 before his race engineer replied: “Yeah, he’s doing a good job at the moment. He’s in a fight of his own.”

This answer didn’t cut it for Russell who snapped back: “What the f*** does that mean? How are we doing in the championship? Are we good?”
