Ryanair incredibly trolled F1 star Charles Leclerc after his ‘flight to Lourdes’ comments following a disastrous Brazil Grand Prix on Sunday.
Leclerc failed to start the Sao Paulo Grand Prix on Sunday after he suffered a hydraulics issue that saw him spin and crash into a barrier on the formation lap. The Monegasque qualified in P2 for the race on Friday but all his hard work was binned in gutting fashion.
The Ferrari driver went in front of cameras to explain his nightmare, where he insinuated he needed help from a higher power. Saying he wanted to fly to Lourdes in France, the most visited Christian shrine in the world.

And in comical fashion, airline Ryanair were on hand to troll the F1 world again, this time offering Leclerc a boarding pass from Brazil to Lourdes, with the caption: “Take your strategists with ya x”.
But eagle-eyed fans spotted several Easter Eggs in the boarding pass – firstly seeing the flight code from Brazil reading DNS (Did not start), in a nod to Leclerc’s formation lap crash. Also on the card was ‘sequence 7’ – in reference to the corner on the track where Leclerc crashed.

Other niches saw his seat number of ‘16F’ in relation to his car number 16 and F standing for Ferrari. And the reference code of ‘1NCID3N7’ poking fun at Leclerc’s iconic ‘nothing, it was just an inchident’ interview after he crashed with three-time F1 world champ Max Verstappen during a karting race in their teens.
But best of all was the QR code on his boarding pass, which if scanned, takes you to a page on the F1 23 video game page where you can watch a trailer of Leclerc challenging gamers to a race around Interlagos ahead of his weekend nightmare.
It was certainly a race to forget for Ferrari, whose only remaining driver Carlos Sainz finished in P6. The Prancing Horse were unable to take advantage of a miserable weekend for Mercedes who saw George Russell DNF and Lewis Hamilton finish in P8. Ferrari are still 20 points behind Mercedes in the race for second place in the constructors’ with just two races remaining.
