Former New Zealand international Dan Carter believes that his former side were ‘outplayed’ by France in their group stage opening match at the Rugby World Cup.
The 41-year-old scored 1,598 points in 112 games for the All Blacks before retiring in 2015 from the national side.
He called time on his career back in 2021, not having a club since playing for Kobelco Steelers in Japan the year before but is supporting his country at the Rugby World Cup in France.
Speaking on New Zealand’s 27-13 defeat to France, Carter admitted that his country did not deserve anything from the match.
‘They deserved to win. They outplayed us. There’s a lot of Kiwi’s healing their wounds but not all is lost!,’ said Carter, who appears on Episode Five of Mail Sport’s Croqued Monsieurs.
