Football DIgest: Chelsea continue to spend big on Lavia and Caicedo
Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi has no future at Stamford Bridge under Mauricio Pochettino, according to reports, with Turkish giants Fenerbahce being offered the chance to sign the attacker. Hudson-Odoi came through the Chelsea academy but has failed to establish himself as a first-team regular since making his debut in 2018.
Hudson-Odoi has appeared 126 times for the Blues and has contributed 16 goals and 22 assists. And three seasons ago, the 22-year-old featured in seven Champions League games as Thomas Tuchel led the west London giants to the trophy.
Ahead of the last campaign, Hudson-Odoi was shipped off to Bayer Leverkusen on loan but he started just seven Bundesliga matches. This time around, the player hasn’t even made it onto the bench for either of Chelsea’s opening two Premier League games. And, according to Takvim, his future now appears to lie away from Stamford Bridge.
The Turkish outlet has reported that Hudson-Odoi, who has just one more year remaining on his Blues contract, has been offered to Fenerbahce. But the 19-time Turkish champions haven’t decided whether to move for the player, with the competition for his signature likely to push the transfer fee up.

According to the Evening Standard, Hudson-Odoi is desperate to leave Chelsea to get his career back on track and is willing to take a significant pay cut after agreeing terms with Fulham. But the Craven Cottage outfit face a transfer battle with Nottingham Forest and Everton, who have also entered the race to sign the winger.
Chelsea have set an £8million asking price for the England international but are frustrated that Fulham are refusing to pay the fee. The Cottagers, meanwhile, think Chelsea are demanding too much money for the star as the Blues would save themselves £120,000 a week in wages if they allow him to depart.

Hudson-Odoi has three England caps to his name and last played for his country in 2019 when they defeated Kosovo 4-0 in a Euro 2020 qualifier. But the ace has been a long way from making a return to Gareth Southgate’s squad in recent years. And it doesn’t look like he will get the opportunity to impress the Three Lions boss in Chelsea colours under Pochettino.
Pochettino took the reins at the end of May following a dismal campaign for the Blues under Tuchel and his successors Graham Potter and Frank Lampard. But the Argentine has had a slow start to life in the capital. Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw by Liverpool on the opening weekend of the campaign, before losing 3-1 to West Ham in their second match on Sunday.
