A pitch-invading dog stole the show by running rings around security and the players in a Mexican football match.
In a scene which wouldn't have looked out of place in a Carry On movie, the pooch stormed on at the end of normal time as Alebrijes Oaxaca were beating Dorados 4-0 in their Liga de Expansion MX clash on Wednesday (September 27).
It had only one thing on it's mind – the ball – which had just been claimed from a cross by Dorados substitute goalkeeper Hernan Mendoza. The shot stopper wisely dropped it, and after a short dribble it was under the dog's control.

A hapless steward tried leashing it with a piece of rope, failing miserably and kickstarting a chase across the pitch. Despite the comical events which were unfolding, the consummate professional fourth official held up his board to indicate three minutes of added time.
By that point two other members of staff were also running after the four-legged animal, who made a mockery of them all as he gleefully galloped with his teeth sunk into the ball. It even slowed before and lured them in before showing a turn of pace to leave them in the dust.

To make matters worse, the commentators started up a chant of "Ole" to take the mick further. The dog had both the fans in attendance and those watching on at home in stitches.
One reacted: "Hahaha what a genius the dog is." A Guadalajara fan joked: "Better driving with the ball than everything @Chivas."
A third commented: "Massively rate the fourth official just sticking up the three added minutes while the ball is literally being carried away in a dog's mouth."
"I thought he was signalling for the dog to be subbed off for a second there," added a fourth, while a fifth joked: "When you think you've seen everything in football, there's always something that surprises us."
Eventually, one security guard saw sense and used another ball to coax the dog towards the tunnel and off the pitch so the game could be finished. Oaxaca's social media team later joked they'd be adopting him, but Dorados are in greater needed having lost their last five games.
