Ex-Man Utd chief Ed Woodward gets new job away from Old Trafford working with AI

Ex-Manchester United chief Ed Woodward is back in a job nearly two years after departing Old Trafford.

Having previously served as United's executive vice-chairman at Old Trafford, Woodward left the club back in February 2022. The 52-year-old was for years the public face of the club at boardroom level, with Woodward fronting the brunt of supporters ire in lieu of the Glazer's lack of presence at the club.

He was replaced by Richard Arnold, who it has recently been confirmed has stepped down at United's chief executive as INEOS billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe edges closer to completing his deal with the Glazer's to buy up a 25% stake of the club.

But while Arnold plots his first move since leaving United, Woodward has been unveiled as a new signing for SentientSports, an AI sports company, as a "strategic advisor and non-executive board member."

"We are thrilled to welcome Ed Woodward to SentientSports," Dr Ryan Beal, CEO and founder of SentientSports said.

"Ed brings unparalleled expertise from his time at one of the world's largest sports brands, along with a proven track record in driving commercial success, Ed's insights will be an invaluable asset to our team. As SentientSports continues to grow, Ed's understanding of sports tech will help us to optimise our advanced AI technologies to help our partner clubs grow their global digital fan bases."
