One-time millionaire football club owner Glenn Tamplin is on the run from the police.

Hertfordshire Police want the former Billericay Town and Romford FC owner on two warrants.

The steel magnate, 57, failed to show up at St Albans Magistrates Court earlier this year for the breach of a court order.

Tamplin failed to comply with the requirements of a community order between 19 October and 4 November 2022.

He had a second arrest warrant issued by St Albans Magistrates Court in October this year for possession of cocaine in May.

A police mugshot on the Herts Police website is accompanied with the information that his last known addresses have been in Watford and Essex.

A Hert Police spokesman said: "A warrant was issued by St Albans Magistrates’ Court on 12 July 2023 for failing to comply with the requirements of a community order between 19 October 2022 and 4 November 2022.

"A warrant was also issued by St Albans Magistrates’ Court on 3 October 2023 for possession of a controlled Class A drug (cocaine) on 9 May 2023."

Tamplin shot to fame when he became the owner of non-league football club Billericay Town in December 2016 and they started splashing the cash.

Jermaine Pennant, who once played in a Champions League final for Liverpool, and ex-Tottenham star Jamie O'Hara were among the big money arrivals to the club.

He appointed himself as the team's manager and went viral on social media after getting his team to gather in a huddle and sing R Kelly's World's Greatest prior to a county cup final.

Tamplin invested his own money into renovating the club's stadium – including the installation of a giant mural of himself in bed with his wife – but would step away from his role as owner and director in 2019.

He subsequently took over Romford FC, but did not last long.

Tamplin made his money in the steel industry after he was able to turn a £50,000 loan into a £40million fortune. In 2017, he was named the second most powerful person in the Essex Power 100.

But he has recently fallen onto financial hardship in recent years and blames the coronavirus pandemic for his struggles.

In late 2021, the Daily Star reported how Tamplin was attacked at his £10million mansion in Abridge, Essex.

Tamplin suffered minor injuries in the attack, in which a man was arrested for actual bodily harm, but did not require hospital treatment.
