Manchester United legend Roy Keane gave one of his players a right ear-bashing during his time as Sunderland manager.
The often irate Irishman was either scuffling with other players or completely chopping them down when he was at his angry best at Old Trafford. While he was one of the finest midfielders and captains to grace the Premier League, he was also known for his fiery temperament.
However, when he hung up his boots, he decided to have a go at management and quickly became boss of Sunderland in 2006. After a great start which saw him save the Black Cats from relegation, Keane's anger began to get the better of him – and poor Greg Halford found himself on the wrong end of one of his tirades.

Halford was one of Keane's first signings in his second season at the club. He arrived from Reading in what looked to be a bargain deal. Keane gave him the No.2 shirt in what appeared to be a statement that he would be the No.1 right back.
However, not only did Halford, who is now 38 years old, lose his place, he was also on the end of some iconic rants. When talking about the lack of starts he was given by the now Sky Sports pundit, Halford told the Undr the Cosh podcast: “He gave me a chance but it was very, stop, start, stop, start.

"As a player you need a consistent run of games to get to your best you can’t just go, one game in one game out." Talking about a period which saw him earn two red cards in two game, Halford added: "I think it was two reds in two games.
"It wasn’t even aggression. One was pulling a shirt against Fulham and the second one was a handball against Luton which wasn’t even a handball. I’ve just come into the changing room and I have demolished that changing room. I had put my studs through the doors and walls thinking, this isn’t right."
With Keane not too happy with his two dismissals, he was then asked if there were any other moments where the Irishman let rip with his sharp tongue. Unsurprisingly, it was ingrained in Halford's mind.
“The first one was pre-season out in Ireland and I had an absolute ear-bashing from him," he added. "It was just right up in my face. It was after a pre-season game in Ireland – that was horrible."
