Fellow pundits and former footballing rivals Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville have engaged in some pre-match banter ahead of what could be a huge weekend for Liverpool and Manchester United. 

Liverpool, riding high at the top of the Premier League, could significantly bolster their title aspirations with a victory at Anfield on Sunday. 

The anticipation for the clash is hotting up, with Carragher and Neville fuelling the fire with their lighthearted exchange.

In a post shared on X, formerly Twitter, Neville posted a video of Carragher sporting a Christmas jumper adorned with the bold proclamation, ‘Oh I wish I could relive this every day… When the Kop starts singing, the Reds begin to play.’ 

Neville, a former Man United star, captioned the video ‘Arrogance is a sure path to failure’ ahead of the Premier League clash.

Liverpool are looking to continue their unbeaten streak in the Premier League, following three wins in their recent matches. 

Their rivals, Manchester United, are not enjoying the same success, having been knocked out of the Champions League group stage following a 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich on Tuesday. 

Erik Ten Hag’s side were also defeated 3-0 by Bournemouth at Old Trafford in their last Premier League match, with the side currently sitting sixth in the table.
