Jesse Lingard will reportedly train with Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq after the former Man United and West Ham star shared a photo of him jetting out to Dubai.

Lingard remains a free agent after leaving Nottingham Forest when his one-year contract expired at the end of last season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Lingard has agreed a one month training deal with Al-Ettifaq.

The 30-year-old had been training with his former side West Ham as he looked for a new club.

Mail Sport reported that the England international had impressed manager David Moyes, who was considering offering him a short-term deal but wanted to be assured about his commitment to the club first.

Moyes refused to rule out a free transfer for Lingard when he discussed the player’s future in his press conference last week.

Lingard is now expected to join up with Al-Ettifaq, the Saudi Arabian side managed by Steven Gerrard, on a month training deal.

Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson and ex-Everton winger Demarai Gray were among the Premier League players to move to Al-Ettifaq this summer.

Al-Ettifaq are currently fourth in the Saudi Pro League after seven matches, two points behind leaders Al-Ittihad.

Lingard spoke about the prospect of moving to Saudi Arabia in June, telling Sky Sports that the country was ‘one of the hotspots to go to’ for a footballer.

‘I’m considering all options,’ Lingard said ‘I’ve never ruled out any team or club out, so for me it’s just picking the right team and it’s got to be right for me.

‘Saudi Arabia are doing big things, and in the next couple of years or so, it will be one of the hotspots to go to.

‘I’m not really surprised that the big names are moving out there. Like I say, they’re doing big things and it’s something I would consider as well – I’ve not ruled that out either.

‘It’s got to be right for me at the end of the day. I’ve got to go on my gut feeling but I’m still hungry and striving for success.’

Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson joined Al-Ettifaq in the summer transfer window

Lingard had featured in a behind closed doors friendly for West Ham earlier this month as he looks to resume his career.

He had a disappointing spell at Nottingham Forest after joining Steve Cooper’s side on a one-year contract, failing to score or provide an assist in 17 Premier League appearances for Forest.

The midfielder featured just three times in the league since January, with two coming as fleeting substitute appearances.

Lingard had opted to join Forest over West Ham last summer, after being offered a more lucrative package that was believed to be worth £200,000 per-week.

This led to a badly-tempered game last August between the clubs at the City Ground when Hammers supporters threw fake £50 notes at Lingard.
