Man Utd plan Man City raid, Arsenal £52m boost, Liverpool chase wonderkid

Arsenal ‘ready to sell Thomas Partey’ to raise funds for three-man January transfer list

Manchester United are expected to dip their hands into their pockets in January despite Erik ten Hag’s insistence otherwise. Following a dire 3-0 loss to Bournemouth on Saturday the Red Devils are now under more pressure than ever to bring in new players, particularly in the centre of the park.

Scott McTominay dropped a clanger at Old Trafford at the weekend and there are increasing concerns about his ability to hold his own as a midfielder. United lack stability in the middle and are on the lookout for a deep-lying player.

In what would undoubtedly be a shock swoop, United are reportedly weighing up a move for Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips. The Manchester rivals rarely do business with each other so to strike a deal now would come as a surprise although the Sky Blues are understood to be desperate to get rid of the Englishman, who has made just 16 Premier League appearances across one and a half seasons at the Etihad.

Liverpool chase wonderkid

Liverpool are keen on acquiring the services of 21-year-old Hoffenheim starlet Maximilian Beier in January. The striker has a £25.7m release clause in his contract and has been tearing it up in the Bundesliga this season.

In 13 league games, Beier has scored six goals and laid on four assists. According to Sky Sports Germany, many top English clubs including Liverpool have inquired about him with the Reds seeing him as a long-term option up front.

Arsenal £52m boost

Arsenal have been given a major boost in their bid to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad in 2024 with Barcelona reportedly straying away from the deal.

Mundo Deportivo claims he won’t be heading to the Nou Camp in the New Year despite Barca links as the La Liga giants are considering bringing in a different type of midfielder to boost their output in the centre of the park.
