Jadon Sancho is in a ‘constant exchange’ with the manager of Champions League rivals Borussia Dortmund, according to reports. The winger looks set to leave Manchester United in January and a return to Germany could be a possibility amid conversations with Edin Terzic.
Sancho remains frozen out at United following his public falling out with Erik ten Hag. He has not trained with his team-mates since he was dropped for the trip to Arsenal early last month.
Ten Hag claimed Sancho was left out at the Emirates due to his poor performance in training in the week leading up to the match. Sancho hit back on social media in a now-deleted post which claimed he had been made a scapegoat.
United and Ten Hag want Sancho to issue an apology before he can be reintegrated back into the squad. But the 23-year-old is yet to do so and remains on the sidelines.
A January exit looks likely and clubs may already be plotting a move. Sky Germany claims a resolution to the saga will be reached by the winter transfer window.

It is reported that Sancho wants to leave and a loan is possible because a sale would be too expensive for many interested clubs. Sancho still has two-and-a-half years, plus the option of a further year, remaining on his Old Trafford contract.
He joined United from Dortmund in 2021 for a fee of £73million. Sky Germany says a move back to Dortmund is currently ‘unrealistic’ but cannot be ruled out.
What has added more fuel to the fire is that the same report claims Sancho is in regular contact with Dortmund boss Terzic. The German coach was interim manager for the final six months of Sancho’s spell in the Bundesliga.
Sancho won the German Cup under Terzic in May 2021 before joining United two months later. Terzic was handed the Dortmund job on a permanent basis in the summer of 2022, replacing Marco Rose.
Sancho enjoyed an exceptional period at Dortmund after initially joining in 2017. He scored 50 goals and registered 64 assists in 137 appearances for the German side.

His record earned him the mega move to United but it hasn’t gone to plan for either party since. He has just 12 goals and six assists in 82 matches, averaging a goal contribution every 4.5 games compared to every 1.2 at Dortmund.
Sancho appeared to delete his Instagram page last week. But Ten Hag said that wasn’t enough to win him over.
The Dutchman said: “I don’t talk about players who are not available. I don’t know [whether Sancho deleting his Instagram account means anything].
“It’s up to him. I said I don’t comment about players who are not available.”
