Manor Solomon details ‘hell’ of friends and family as war breaks out in Israel

Manor Solomon has issued his prayers for the people of Israel as they 'go through hell' at the hands of Hamas.

The Israeli professional footballer, who joined Tottenham in the summer, has expressed his fury for the events that have taken place in his homeland. The 24-year-old has taken to social media to send love to his friends and family amid the ongoing conflict.

On October 7, the Islamic Resistance Movement, known as Hamas, launched a large-scale invasion of Israel from the Gaza Strip. The first direct conflict within Israel's boundaries since 1948 involved targeted attacks on civilians including a massacre at a music festival that left more than 260 dead.

An emotional Solomon has now wrote: "In the past two days my country, my family, my friends and my beloved people have been going through hell.

"Over 800 Israelis have been murdered – the most murdered in one day since the Holocaust!

"Over 150 people have been kidnapped – including women, children, babies and elderly people.

"Thousands of missiles and rockets have been fired towards innocent civilians! Hamas is not doing (and has never done) anything in favour of the Palestinian people.

"Hamas is a Terror organisation with one mission only – to wipe the Jews off the planet.

"Supporting them means supporting terror, just like supporting Al-Qaeda, Isis and the attacks on 9.11. Israel has the right to defend itself! Pray for Israel."

Since the invasion, which included the taking of hostages, Israeli forces have retaken control of all communities around the Gaza Strip. Ten Brits are feared dead or missing from the violence.

Earlier in the say, Rugby World Cup icon Sonny Bill Williams has been told to remove his 'horrific' take on the conflict comparing it to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said of the attacks: "Israel has the full right to defend itself against terror. As any other state. And it’s critical that the whole world responds to terror in a unified and principled manner."
