Peter Drury’s commentary notes before Arsenal vs Man City leave fans in awe

Football fans have been left in awe after Peter Drury showed off his commentary notes ahead of Arsenal's clash with Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

In a video shared by Sky Sports, Drury, who joined Sky Sports at the start of the season, showed off his folder which contained pages of extensive notes. He said: "I have a front page with the teams on in pencil because we don't know the teams yet so they'll be rubbed out. Then lots of blurs of colour of the two teams. Every player with stats and history.

"And then the two teams again with their coaches and the history of the fixture, their form, recent results so far and recent formations. And then all the other bits I call etcetera. The history of the fixture and so on and then the league table."

Fans were left in awe of the commentator's extensive preparation. One supporter said: "A modern day legend. One of the best commentators the game will ever see." While a second responded: "No one does it better!"

"One of the best commentators. He literally paints a picture with his words," a third said. And another added: "This guy does his homework! That folder looks like he’s studying for the biggest exam of his life!"

Arsenal ran out the winners at the Emirates Stadium as the two sides largely nullified each other for the majority of the clash. It was a returning Gabriel Martinelli who made the difference on the day as the Gunners secured a narrow 1-0 win.

The Brazilian skipped inside and let fly with a shot from just outside of the area – but the ball struck Nathan Ake, sending it past a hapless Ederson in the City goal.
