Mason Greenwood undertook his first public training session as a Getafe player this morning after completing his deadline day move to the La Liga side.
Greenwood has not played competitive football since December 2021 following his suspension at Manchester United in the wake of his arrest in January 2022.
The player was charged with allegations of attempted rape and assault, but these charges were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service in February 2023 following the withdrawal of key witnesses.
Man United completed their internal investigation into the player’s conduct in August and mutually agreed with the 21-year-old forward that his career should ‘recommence’ away from Old Trafford.
Getafe will not be paying a fee for the forward, but will cover a small contribution for his wages for the duration of the loan.
The player is set to be presented as a player at the Spanish side on Tuesday evening.
More to follow.
