Harry Kane may have found his doppelgänger after an E-fit was released of a suspect relating to a robbery.

The England captain went viral on social media through no fault of his own, instead due to a post by Richmond Upon Thames Police, who urged the public to be vigilant over a suspect in a robbery and attached an e-fit image of the individual.

The suspect shares an uncanny resemblance with the Bayern Munich striker and it wasn't long before social media users began noticing the similarity. One person wrote: "I think his name is Harry Kane!" while another joked: "Looks like Richmond Upon Thames Police are looking for Harry Kane!"

In its post, the police force wrote: "On October 26 between 2000 – 2030hrs, a lone female was robbed in an alley off Twickenham Riverside. We are asking for anyone who could identify the person from this EFIT image. Please call us on 101 (ref 0711737/23) with any assistance."

Aside from the facial similarities to a robbery suspect, the 30-year-old has had a stellar debut season in Germany as he's scored 21 goals in just 16 games, including 17 in the Bundesliga.

After leaving Tottenham this past summer in a deal worth over £86million, Kane has shone on the domestic stage and in Europe, with four goals in the Champions League as Bayern continue to demonstrate why they sit as one of the favourites to win the competition with four wins out of four.

The opportunity to play in Europe's premier competition was the striker's motivation to leave Spurs, as he admitted in an interview earlier this season. "I needed to be playing at the highest level if I ultimately wanted to improve," he said.

"If I want to be around the best strikers and best players in the world then I need to be playing in the Champions League and fighting for titles. Last season went well for me personally, but not for Spurs as a team. It was time to take another step."
