Premier League fans are ripping into Burnley after the Clarets put out a job advert for a matchday drummer.
Vincent Kompany's men have a had tough go of it on their return to the top flight, picking up just four points from their opening nine league games. A relegation scrap looks pretty unavoidable, so squeezing every ounce of noise and fervour out of their supporters this season is an absolute must.
As such, they've gone in search of a drummer, who will be tasked with "creating a lively matchday atmosphere", and "keeping a beat during the game to keep the fans engaged and excited".

Furthermore, Burnley sent an email round to all season ticket holders, asking for fans to up the effort on matchday in order to turn Turf Moor into a "fortress". It read: "At the end of last season, Vincent Kompany asked the fans to make Turf Moor a 'fortress'. Despite this, most supporters would agree that the atmosphere at Turf Moor this season has felt flat.
"With that, we come to you, the season ticket holder, to hear your suggestions on how we can collectively lift the matchday atmosphere. We must ensure the squad hears and feels our support throughout the 90 minutes and beyond. We invite you to submit your suggestions as to how we best do this."

A third added: "Good idea but have Burnley just admitted they have no atmosphere?" A fourth said: "I get the whole 'twelfth man' thing, but I’d also argue that professional footballers are paid enough (and the clue is also in the 'professional' bit) that they should be able to play at the top of their game irrespective of what’s happening in the stands."
