Never one to shy away from the limelight, Micah Richards touched down in Miami wearing a daring white suit and a brown fedora for CBS’ ‘Destination Miami’ roadshow on Tuesday.
The former England, Man City and Aston Villa soccer star was on the star-studded panel with Thierry Henry and Clint Dempsey for the Champions League games, and he quickly got the crowd going at the start of the show.
As has become tradition for UCL nights on CBS, host Kate Abdo introduced the team, but saved some banter for Richards at the end of the line.
After giving a positive welcome to Henry and Dempsey, she moved on to the ex-defender and said: ‘The bosses at CBS thought, “This is Miami, we need more star power”. However it turns out that Lionel Messi is out of the country.
‘But then they thought, “well, why not a handsome, dashing Brit? But sadly David Beckham was also not available… so here he is, Mr Micah Richards.’

With the audience laughing, Richards reacted by shouting ‘Big Meeks is here, make some noise baby!’, before starting a chant of ‘Big Meeks!’
Richards showed off his daring fashion sense on the show, wearing a full cream suit, with a white shirt and a brown fedora hat, complete with some dark shades.
CBS’ soccer team are in Miami for the next two days with a live audience, swapping their London studio for the sunshine of South Florida.
One member of the panel who was conspicuous in his absence was Jamie Carragher, but he is due to touch down in the US on Tuesday and will join the team later in the day.
