Brennan Johnson’s move to Tottenham is expected to take shape after their Carabao Cup game with Fulham tomorrow.

Talks took place at the weekend over a move that Confidential first told you about in July and Tottenham are willing to offer a cash plus players deal.

Some of those available players could figure on Tuesday evening and the game will give Nottingham Forest the opportunity to assess further who could fit in with Steve Cooper’s side – should they agree to the deal.

Brentford have not gone away either as they look to replace striker Ivan Toney after his ban for breaching FA betting rules.

Wales’ Brennan Johnson may join Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs or Thomas Frank at Brentford

Johnson has performed well under Steve Cooper as he helped to keep Forest up last season

Tottenham will be turning to Johnson for goals after Harry Kane’s departure to Bayern Munich and Richarlison’s struggles up top.

The Welsh forward has eight goals and three assists for Forest in the Premier League.

Brentford made another approach at the end of last week after having bids up to £40m rejected earlier in the window and seeing a £34m offer dismissed for Nicolas Gonzalez of Fiorentina.

The Bees have signed Nathan Collins from Wolves for £23m and made the loan of Freiburg’s Kevin Schade permanent for £22m.

Meanwhile, Tottenham were among the clubs represented at Clermont Foot this weekend where another potential target Metz striker Georges Mikautadze scored the winner for the away side.
