Why Harry Kane missed Bayern Munich's iconic Oktoberfest photoshoot

England captain Harry Kane was not present for Bayern Munich’s iconic Oktoberfest photoshoot on Tuesday.

Kane joined the German champions from Tottenham this summer and provided a goal and assist on his Bundesliga debut on Friday.

But four days later, the 30-year-old was missing from Bayern’s annual Oktoberfest celebrations.

Every year the Bayern squad dress up in Lederhosen outfits, a Bavarian tradition, and pose with a beer from the Paulaner brewery – who have been a partner with Bayern since 2003.

Kane was unable to join the celebrations, though, due to the birth of his fourth child.

‘The beer might not be flowing yet at the Munich Oktoberfest, but with around four weeks to go before the start of the festival, the FC Bayern players got into the ‘Wiesn’ spirit already,’ the club posted on their website.

‘The annual lederhosen photo shoot with partner Paulaner took place yesterday (Tuesday) at the Munich Nockherberg, where the players swapped their jerseys for traditional Bavarian attire.

‘It was a special event for new signings Minjae Kim, Raphael Guerreiro and Konrad Laimer, who looked the part in their outfit, jacket and Haferl shoes.

‘Harry Kane was absent due to the birth of his fourth child.’

Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel said: ‘It’s a long time since I’ve worn lederhosen, but I have childhood photos in the classic ‘drop fly’ lederhosen!’
