David Nalbandian has been accused of installing a hidden spy camera in a room occupied by his ex-girlfriend. In a voice note, the former world No 3 confesses to putting the camera inside a vent, though he claimed that he couldn’t “see anything” through it because of connectivity issues. Araceli Torrado is suing Nalbandian for sexual harassment and stalking.
Torrado, a 29-year-old model, shared a video showing the moment that she and her brother discovered the camera inside an air conditioning vent. However, a prosecutor’s office in the City of Buenos Aires ruled that it did not constitute a crime as the pair previously shared the apartment.
Nalbandian confesses to installing the hidden camera in a voice note sent to his ex-girlfriend, as revealed by C5N. “Do you want me to be honest? Yes, I put it on that day. We put it on that day,” the retired tennis player said.
“I couldn’t see it because I don’t know what the internet is like, you can’t see it, so I didn’t see anything at all. What happened, what didn’t happen, I don’t know anything. If you sleep with someone or you don’t sleep with someone. It’s like I told you, you can do it there and you can do it outside, at any time, on any day and at any time. It’s not because of that.”

The complaint was presented to the public prosecutor’s office, where it was first archived due to lack of evidence. Following the emergence of the voice note of Nalbandian admitting what happened, Torrado and her lawyer have gone back to the courts.
Torrado’s legal team may try to present evidence as to whether the former world No 3 had access to images from the camera. Her lawyer claims Nalbandian started harassing her after she ended their relationship earlier this year.
