John Fury calls out Mike Tyson and heavyweight legend issues perfect response

One final press conference was held between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou before their fight on Saturday, and as expected it descended into chaos. Whenever Fury’s father, John, is about you can expect drama, and he called out Mike Tyson for a fight.

Mike Tyson took on the role of training Ngannou for his first professional boxing match after the MMA champion agreed to take on Fury in a crossover fight.

It’s the biggest crossover since Conor McGregor fought Floyd Mayweather, but the press conference may have created another fight that fans would be desperate to see. Although John Fury has huge respect for Mike Tyson, whom his heavyweight son is named after, he called him out for a fight during the press conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

John Fury initially proposed a fight if Ngannou beats his son on Saturday, but later requested that the boxing legend gets into a ring with him no matter the result, and Mike Tyson seemed happy to go ahead with it. “The world is going to see what happens to your man,” John Fury said in reference to Ngannou during the press conference.

“Your man will get his head boxed off and stopped at will my pal, don’t you worry about that. If I’m wrong, me and you will fight straight after!” Mike Tyson then punched the air laughing and screamed “Yeah!” with even the two actual fighters competing on Saturday laughing away.

“Me and the great Mike. Whatever the outcome, me and you will fight,” John Fury then added. “All day baby,” Mike Tyson replied. Unlike some of John Fury’s recent press conference appearances, this one was very relaxed due to the respect between both camps.

Fury went viral when causing chaos recently at the press conference between KSI and his son, Tommy. John Fury clashed with KSI’s camp and even started punching a glass panel to try and get to the influencer.

There is huge respect between Tyson Fury and Ngannou, although that will be tested on Saturday when they step into the ring. But both John and Tyson Fury idolise former boxer Mike Tyson, and that’s been reflected in each press conference so far.

However, John Fury did call out Ngannou when proposing a fight with Mike Tyson, as he said: “Ngannou can’t beat me pal, and I’m useless.” Ngannou then responded with: “Maybe not you but your son.”

The fight takes place on Saturday, October 28, with the ring walk expected at 10:30 pm. It’s available for Pay-Per-View on TNT Sports Box Office at a cost of £21.95 for viewers in the UK.
