USA captain Stacy Lewis unveiled her 12-player team to take on Europe at the Solheim Cup in Spain next month.
LPGA breakout star Rose Zhang, along with Jennifer Kupcho, Danielle Kang, Andrea Lee and Lexi Thompson, were locked in Monday as the final automatic qualifiers for Team USA.
World No. 1 golfer Lilia Vu, world No. 2 Nelly Korda, this year’s US Women’s Open winner Allisen Corpuz and Megan Khang had already been confirmed as members of the Stars and Stripes to take on Suzann Pettersen’s European team at Finca Cortesin in Andalucia, Spain, on September 22-24.
The USA team was rounded out with three captain’s picks, with Ally Ewing, Cheyenne Knight and Angel Yin getting the call up from Lewis.
Lewis had a helping hand in announcing her roster thanks to some familiar faces, including those accustomed to success for the USA.

Two-time women’s soccer World Cup winners Julie Foudy, Alex Morgan and Mia Hamm headlined a video unveiling the roster as they announced Vu, Korda, and Thompson respectively.
Six-time PGA Tour winner Max Homa, who will also be representing the USA at the Ryder Cup next month, announced Danielle Kang will be making her fourth appearance at the Solheim Cup.
Alabama head coach Nick Saban, Stanley Cup champion TJ Oshie and his two daughters, WWE star The Miz, and former NFL star Mike Golic also revealed members of the team.
The team includes the top seven golfers in the US Solheim Cup standings, with Thompson and Zhang making the squad as the two highest Americans in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings who were not in the top seven.
‘These final days were definitely some of the hardest ones of my career, but I’m so proud to have Ally, Cheyenne and Angel on the 2023 U.S. Solheim Cup team,’ Lewis said.
‘These three women earned their spots on this team, putting themselves into contention both with their play on the course and their teamwork off the course. Over the last year and a half, I’ve gotten to know all the U.S. players incredibly well and I’m honored to be their captain. We are going to have an incredible week at Finca Cortesin.’
This is Thompson’s sixth appearance in the Solheim Cup. Kang will represent the U.S. for the fourth time, with Ewing, Khang, Korda and Yin appearing on their third teams. Kupcho will wear the Stars and Stripes for a second time, while Corpuz, Knight, Lee, Vu and Zhang will play in their first Solheim Cup.

‘It’s an honor to be on this team, for me to be with the best players in the world as well as be an athlete that represents her country,’ Zhang said. ‘I can’t wait to go to Spain and tee it up with these amazing girls, and at the same time represent the Red, White and Blue.’
Team Europe clinched its second victory on USA soil in 2021 when it beat the USA 15-13 at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio.
In 2019, Team Europe earned a 14.5-13.5 victory at Gleneagles in Scotland, a breathtaking win that saw Pettersen, Europe’s captain this year. knock in the winning putt on the final hole of the final match.
The US Team leads the European Team, 10-6, all-time in Solheim Cup competition.
