Sir Alex Ferguson could receive a huge cash injection if his horse Spirit Dancer ends up victorious in Bahrain.
The former Manchester United manager is currently in Bahrain on Friday (November 17) to watch Spirit Dancer, the horse he co-owns, in action in the Bahrain International trophy which is the kingdom's most prestigious race. The victor of the race wins a whopping £500,000.
While money isn't the motivating factor for the 86-year-old, the half a million could add nicely to his staggering £56million net worth, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

The Scotsman has long been a horse racing fan and owner as he admitted he now owns 32 horses as he opened up about when his love for the sport first began to manifest during an interview with Racing TV. "To be honest, the route I got into racing was through my father, he was a great horse fan," he said.
"I didn’t really take it up, in terms of ownership at least, until 1997/98 when there was an international break and I said to my wife “Why don’t we go to the racing?” Where did you get that from, she said. We went to Cheltenham and I got hooked on it. We bought a horse with Jack Berry and from there on, I now have 32 horses! It is a fantastic sport in terms of a release for me away from football."

His trip to Bahrain was his first since 1986 – the same year he became Manchester United manager – and the legendary coach said his time in the Middle Eastern country has been nothing short of spectacular as he predicted the island country will become a premier location for horse racing in the coming years.
"Oh it’s been fantastic, especially the hospitality we have had. I see this place now and I think in five or six years it will be one of the top races in the world. November 1986 I came here with Man Utd, it was my second game.
"It was the prince's birthday and they had a select team play against us and that was my first real trip with United." He added: "The change in the place is remarkable, the buildings, the design, it is quite fascinating."
