Andy Carroll has picked his ideal five-a-side football team from players he played with in Mail Sport’s quickfire questions, with some shock names involved.
Carroll burst onto the scene at Newcastle before joining Liverpool in January 2011 for a then-mouthwatering £35million, where he played with the likes of Steven Gerrard, Jordan Henderson and Luis Suarez.
He also went onto feature for the likes of West Ham, West Brom and Newcastle again and currently plays for Amiens in the French second division.
The former England striker also disclosed the hardest player he played with in his career, naming a former Reds defender. ‘A couple of times he came smashing through the back of me in training and we had a little argument,’ he said.
Carroll also detailed his hilarious first purchase when he knew he had ‘made it’, his thoughts on rugby and what advice he would give his younger self.
