Chelsea defender Levi Colwill has been cleared to make his senior England debut after a scan confirmed he had not suffered an injury.

The 20-year-old centre-back is pushing to feature the Three Lions against Ukraine on Saturday or Scotland three days later.

Colwill has been ever-present for Chelsea this season but felt some discomfort in his leg after last week’s 2-1 Carabao Cup win over AFC Wimbledon.

He completed 90 minutes in Saturday’s 1-0 home defeat by Nottingham Forest but underwent tests to check if he had sustained an injury.

And a precautionary scan came back clear on Tuesday, according to the London Evening Standard.

Chelsea defender impressed as England triumphed in the European Under-21 Championship

The 20-year-old had replaced the injured Tyrone Mings as he linked up with the senior side for the second time following his first call-up in June.

Colwill starred for Lee Carsley’s Young Lions at the European Under-21 Championship this summer, starting five of six games including their win against Spain in the final but has yet to make his senior debut.

The defender has also started all three of Chelsea ‘s Premier League fixtures this season, with the academy graduate making his senior debut for the Blues in their Premier League opening weekend draw with Liverpool .
