Everton midfielder Andre Gomes is attracting interest from Fenerbahce.

The 30-year old spent last season on loan at French side Lille and has one year left on contract.

Despite being short on depth in their first team squad, Everton are prepared to listen to offers for the former Portugal international who has struggled to recapture his old form since dislocating an ankle in 2019.

He made 27 appearances and managed three goals for Lille last season but cash conscious Everton, who are in talks to be taken over by 777 Partners, are ready to offload his salary from their books.

Other clubs such as Trabzonspor have shown interest but Fenerbahce have shown a willingness to get a deal done with Everton before the Turkish window closes.

Gomes is yet to make an appearance for Everton this season, being in the match day squad just once in their first four Premier League games.

He was an unused substitute against Fulham in the Toffees’ opening day defeat at home to Fulham, and is unlikely to turn out for the Merseyside club any time soon.

In total, he has made 99 appearances for the club since joining in 2018, initially on loan before making the move permanent in a £22million deal.

The Turkish window, which closes on Friday, is the last window open that is likely to impact any major dealings.
