Man Utd players' feelings towards Jadon Sancho after latest Erik ten Hag spat
Manchester United might be able to offload Scott McTominay in January if Bayern Munich reignite their interest in Fulham star Joao Palhinha. McTominay was reportedly one of the players who Erik ten Hag wanted to sell to raise funds for more signings before last week’s transfer deadline.
It is claimed that Bayern will relaunch their bid to sign Palhinha in the winter. The defensive midfielder saw a move to the Bundesliga side fall through on deadline day with Fulham unable to sign a replacement.
One of the players the Cottagers had eyed was supposedly McTominay. However, they too were unable to complete a move before the clock ticked past 11pm last Friday.
The United midfielder will likely be available again in January should Fulham need a replacement for Palhinha. The Portugal international is reportedly set to finally complete his switch to Germany in 2024.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Bayern will return for the 28-year-old in the winter. The report adds that the German champions were happy with the player’s conduct despite the disappointment of his failed transfer.
Palhinha’s brother and agent, Goncalo, recently described the deal as merely ‘postponed’. “They (Fulham) didn’t kill the dream, they just postponed it. Very proud of my brother and the player I represent,” he said.
“Words of appreciation, recognition and thanks to the entire Bayern structure. The affection for the club in our family will remain forever even though my brother didn’t sign.”
Palhinha’s potential exit from Fulham could have a knock-on effect for United’s business in January. According to the Daily Mail, the West Londoners may seek a deal for McTominay or Tottenham’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

McTominay also saw a switch to West Ham fail in the summer due to United’s insistence that they wanted more than the £30million being offered. It remains to be seen if the Red Devils value him around that price come January.
The Scotland international has fallen dramatically down the pecking order at Old Trafford over the last six months. Previously a certain starter under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, McTominay has seen Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Mason Mount and Sofyan Amrabat arrive at the club over the last 12 months.
At 26, McTominay may therefore be open to pursuing a move elsewhere. Replacing Palhinha at Fulham could be one possible destination.
