The animated sports fan who went viral after chugging beers at the US Open in 2021 and 2022 has revealed her experience at Flushing Meadows this year has left her as flat as an old glass of Heineken.

‘Beer girl’ Megan Lucky took to Instagram to explain why she believes she hasn’t featured on the big screen next to other tennis fans in New York for a third year running.

‘Whoever was in charge didn’t want me on the jumbotron [big screen],’ her clip began.

‘I don’t know their reasons, they didn’t share them with me, but I still had a lot of fun [at the US Open] and I’m at peace with it.

‘I know the universe has a plan for me and like I said last time, beer girl is a part of me.

Tennis fan Megan Lucky went viral after chugging beers at the US Open the past couple of years – however, her recent experience at Flushing Meadows has been very different

The 27-year-old told her Instagram followers she was ‘at peace’ with not starring at Flushing Meadows and may take her ‘fun-loving energy’ to another sport

Lucky couldn’t believe she made it onto the big screen at the 2021 US Open

The 27-year-old showed the crowd her appreciation by chugging her beer – and a sporting cult hero was born

‘Maybe I’ll take her to another sport that wants her fun-loving energy soon, so look out for that.

‘But as for now, this is not the end, it is only the beginning of a new era.’

Lucky became a cult hero online – and with some tennis commentators –  following her exploits in the stands in 2021 and 2022.

She first made it onto the big screen – and on social media – during the third-round match between Roberto Bautista-Agut and Felix Auger-Aliassime in 2021.

The clip of her effort in 2022 was watched more than 350,000 times with Lucky commenting ‘I’ve missed you guys.’

She took to Instagram to show off images from her second annual US Open chug, with the caption reading ‘Some b**** named Serena stole my thunder.’

Lucky did manage to capitalise on her time in the spotlight, partnering with several alcohol labels – but she’s now looking to develop her ‘personal brand’.

‘I still haven’t been able to truly monetise,’ Ms Lucky, who has over 114,000 Instagram followers, said in a recent interview.

‘So now I’m starting to post more on my socials.’
