Paul next fight announced as YouTuber set to face another pro boxer after Fury

Five potential opponents for Jake Paul on boxing return

Jake Paul is set to face another professional boxer in his next outing. The Problem Child will square off against Andre August (10-1-1) on December 15 at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida.

The bout will be contested at cruiserweight (200 pounds) over eight rounds as Paul takes on his most experienced opponent in the squared circle to date. Paul’s last and only encounter with a professional boxer, Tommy Fury, ended in defeat and now the YouTube star is hoping to re-write those wrongs by getting his hand raised against August.

For the majority of Paul’s three-year stint in the paid ranks he has fought ageing MMA fighters but his latest opponent represents a shift in the direction of his career. “I’m a professional boxer and I want to be world champion, so I need to pursue the path towards greatness against people who have been boxing their whole life,” said Paul in the official press release.

“So far, my entire boxing career has been on pay-per-view, but now it’s about more than business. Now I want to build my experience in the ring against seasoned fighters. I’m coming to prove my greatness on Friday, December 15th live on DAZN for the world to see.”

Little is known about August, who hails from Beaumont, Texas. The 35-year-old is currently riding a five-fight win streak after beating previously unbeaten prospect Brandon Martin earlier this year while the sole defeat of his professional career came back in 2017 when he was stopped by American journeyman Eric Abraham.

“I don’t talk very much. I’m all about that action! Jake Paul has the money, the fame, the team and the resources but he doesn’t have my hunger,” said August. “When that bell rings, I am going to go straight to Jake Paul and ring his bell and send him back to YouTube for good.”

On the same bill, Shadasia “The Sweet Terminator” Green is set to take on Franchón Crews-Dezurn for the WBC super middleweight title.
