Man Utd star Andre Onana makes huge error gifting Bayern Munich goal

Man Utd train ahead of Bayern Munich clash

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana made another major error as he let Leroy Sane’s shot slip through his hands as Bayern Munich took the lead in their Champions League tie on Wednesday. The former Manchester City man took aim from range but Onana was unable to keep his effort out, as his side went a goal down in Germany.

United had been keeping level with Bayern in the match, despite plenty of pessimism going into the tie as they challenged Thomas Tuchel’s side prior to Onana’s blunder.

Moments later Bayern doubled their advantage as Serge Gnabry got on the scoresheet after a stunning assist by another former City starlet Jamal Musiala.

The Cameroon stopper could do little to prevent Gnabry’s effort, but his body language seemed to suggest that his initial error was still playing on his mind – having pulled his shirt over his face on a number of occasions following the mistake.

This is the latest error that Onana has made since his big-money summer move from Inter Milan to replace the outgoing David De Gea at Old Trafford, having been questioned for failing to come out and then being beaten too easily by a dummy as Taiwo Awoniyi scored for Nottingham Forest against United in August.

While many also thought that Onana could have done more to prevent Brighton’s third goal in their 3-1 win at United on Saturday, as Joao Pedro’s shot flew past him despite being at a comfortable height for a goalkeeper.
